It wasn’t the fairtale start that Big Phil Scolari was hoping for. Nor was it the way Ronaldinho wished to celebrate his 100th cap as the boys from Brazil were beaten 2-1 by England in a lively game at Wembley. Continue reading

Corinthians and the World Club Cup
Corinthians march onwards and upwards. In a cold and packed stadium in Yokohama, Corinthians lifted the 2012 FIFA World Club Cup after beating, and in my opinion outplaying, Chelsea in the final. Continue reading
Sul-Americana final violence: what happened
Last night, late, I watched the Sul-Americana final second leg. Great first half from São Paulo, 2-0 up going into the break. Serie A latest: Fluminense almost there
Good morning sports fans! Its been a little while so just a quick post with an update from the Serie A and other Brazilian football news. There are now just four rounds of the Championship left and it is now a question of when, not if, Fluminense will be crowned Champions.
Fantastic Ronaldinho
Atlético Mineiro kept their slim title hopes alive with a fantastic win against Fluminense on Sunday afternoon. They won 3-2 with a goal in the last minute. Can’t say they didn’t deserve it – look how many times they hit the post. What a glorious header that was. What an atmosphere! Check out the highlights to the game below and look out for Ronaldinho dictating play from his central attacking midfield role. He is in fantastic form and I think its great. I’d still be shocked if Fluminense didn’t win the title (they have their own stars like Fred and Deco) and are six points clear at the top with six games left but I’ve left a few videos highlights of the great man’s recent performances below. Look at his and the fans reaction. Fantastic. What a legend! Continue reading
